Among our highly rated services is our efficient approach to highway and road construction. One of our initial road projects in the mid-seventies included Pierce Street in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Since then, we have expanded and gained experience with similar projects working for the New Mexico Department of Transportation and the Texas Department of Transportation.

From Paper to Pavement

Any road building begins with the Stage 1 planning, which means considering state priorities, regulations, and other specific conditions. Stage 2 usually involves the design aspects of the project and working with engineers and others to assess among other things traffic volume, the ratio of cars, and trucks, etc. Stage 3 involves preparing the land’s soil and getting everything to pass inspection in order to move forward with Stage 4, which is paving the foundation.

From Paper to Highway

Constructors, Inc. has worked on various highway projects. Some of the highway projects we’ve completed with TxDOT and NMDOT are government contracts, which require us to prepare and submit a bid.

Generally, as contractors, we follow the process of design, build, and bid. We use our expertise in the engineering fields to come up with the most viable design to fit the project and then begin the work of submitting the bid. We highly value innovation and try to implement new ideas and systems into the work we do every day.

Earthwork

Earthwork is an important part of any road construction or highway project. The earthwork phase is what establishes the necessary foundation for a construction project. This part of the process involves breaking the geographic location of rocks and other obstructions. Many times it requires excavation, leveling, compaction, soil preparation, and material removal. Here, the contractors will ensure the correct height and implement drains and sewers. Once the earthwork is complete, the paving phase of the project follows.
